Anna + Jake 13.9.24 | Taking the piss out of each other is definitely the love language of these two slightly sarcastic metal heads, so it’s lucky that Anna and Jake don’t take themselves seriously, which makes for a unique and hilarious relationship. ![]()

And we certainly celebrated their uniqueness on Friday the 13th with an energetic ceremony that had everyone cracking up, including a very cool soundtrack that embraced their love of heavy music and iconic movies. ![]()

Their aisle song was an instrumental version of Metallica’s ‘Nothing Else Matters’ and Robbie Hart’s famous Wedding Singer song ‘I wanna Grow Old With You’ was their first dance song (genius really because it only goes for like a minute and a half 😎). ![]()

They also remembered Robbie Hart’s advice when it was time for their first kiss as a married couple…![]()

As I look back on my nearly 13 year career as a Celebrant so far and reminisce about the 100s of marriage ceremonies I have been a part of I feel unbelievably humbled that all of my awesome couples continue to choose me and more importantly put their trust in me to put together a ceremony that feels perfect for them, so I can narrate their wonderful story on their wedding day! ![]()

I am hyper aware at every single wedding that I only get one shot at it, so I’m a teensy bit of a perfectionist of course and its such a good feeling to know that my couples and their guests feel like I’ve nailed it and thoroughly enjoy all the energy I put into their day! ![]()

Happy International Dog Day! 🐶 For those of that have followed me for a while you will know without a doubt that I am a dog lover through and through, like so many of my couples, but don’t these little freeloaders get enough attention 🤔 . ![]()

I absolutely love that more and more of my couples choose to include their furry family member in their big day, but they don’t always have a formal role in the ceremony because that can be a bit much for some Doggos (and you) depending on their nature, but simply having them present for photo time or even a little mentioned within your fun love story can be just the ticket to include them in a way that suits their unique, wonderful and sometimes overly enthusiastic personalities 😂. ![]()
